Canadian Retail Giant strategizing for North American market

Sunday, February 5, 2017

Hudson’s Bay Co has made a takeover approach for Macy’s: sources and experts familiar with the matter aforesaid, an attempt to push further into the U.S. market where it already owns the Lord & Taylor and Saks Fifth Avenue Chains.

Another possible takeover bid is from Amazon, in which Amazon itself could be a potential buyer of the company, given its expansion into physical stores.

But, like every multi million takeover bid, it’s only a speculation until the final negotiations are to the benefit of the giant box retail store.

How can small local business differentiate and compete with such Giants, or can we benefit?
